Accidental
Counselling
Training

Better conversations start
with the right skills.

Practical, evidence informed training to help you support people through life's challenges, in your everyday life, with confidence and care

What is Accidental Counselling?

Accidental Counselling happens when someone unexpectedly finds themselves supporting another person through an emotionally difficult situation, even though providing counselling isn't part of their professional role.

These conversations can happen anywhere, during a client appointment, over the phone, at reception, in a team meeting or during an everyday interaction.

While we can't always predict when these situations will arise, we can develop the skills to respond effectively.

Our training focuses on helping people listen without judgement, communicate with empathy, establish healthy boundaries and provide appropriate support without taking responsibility for solving every problem.

It's not about becoming someone's counsellor. It's about knowing how to respond when a conversation becomes more than you expected.

Feedback From Others

Charlotte

Andrew was my mentor during my HSC year and was such a legend. He helped me work out what I wanted to do after the HSC and also supported me with goal setting and how to prioritise my time. He helped me manage my relationship with my mum and helped me get better at communicating with her.

Jess

Having a mentor has helped me in so many ways. I never thought I could have achieved the things that I have. If you told me a year ago I would have achieved the things I have . I would never have believed you but with the support of Hayley I have been able to over my challenges and I feel so much more confident and feel real to take on what ahead of me.
