ABOUT US
Helping people support one another
We know that supporting someone experiencing mental health challenges isn't always easy. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say, how to help, or where to turn. That's where we come in.
It Takes a Team is a social enterprise dedicated to increasing community mental health literacy and giving people the knowledge, skills and confidence to support one another.
We believe that mental health education should be practical, engaging and accessible. Our training is grounded in evidence and real-world experience, helping people take what they learn and put it into practice in their everyday lives.
Whether we're working with a small business, a social enterprise, a school or a community organisation, our goal remains the same: to empower people to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.
What we do
At It Takes a Team, we believe everyone should have the knowledge, skills and confidence to support one another. As a social enterprise, we offer practical mental health education, workplace training, coaching and mentoring that help individuals, families and organisations build stronger relationships and more supportive environments. From equipping employees to navigate challenging conversations, to supporting young people and families, our work is all about making a positive difference. And through our social enterprise model, the income we generate helps us deliver fee-free mental health education to the wider community.

Workplace Training & Development
We work with small businesses, social enterprises, community organisations, schools and allied health providers to equip employees and leaders with practical skills to support mental health and wellbeing.
Our training is interactive, supportive and designed around real-world challenges. We want people to leave feeling better prepared to recognise when someone needs support, have meaningful conversations and look after their own wellbeing.

Coaching & Mentoring
We know that growing up, parenting and navigating life's challenges aren't always straightforward. Having the right support can make a real difference.
We work with families, young people and organisations to build stronger relationships, develop practical life skills and support emotional wellbeing.
We also partner with schools, social enterprises and community organisations to deliver tailored programs for the young people and families they support.

Community Mental Health Training
We believe that cost shouldn't be a barrier to developing the skills to support someone experiencing mental health challenges.
That's why we reinvest profits from our trading activities into delivering fee-free community mental health education.
Through these courses, we aim to give more people the confidence and knowledge to recognise mental health challenges, offer support and encourage appropriate help-seeking.

MHFA COURSES
We offer accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia courses to help you build your capacity to support your community.
MHFA is a national not-for-profit organisation focused on mental health training and research. Their core work is to develop MHFA courses, and train Instructors to deliver these courses to their communities or workplaces. MHFA courses are delivered across Australia and internationally.
MHFA courses teach members of the public how to provide initial help to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves.
